YELKA blossomed out of the first Lockdown, the trio consists of Yelka the awesome female bass player, Christian Obermaier on drums and Daniel Meteo on guitar. The sound is somewhere between Kraut/Prog-Rock and Jazz. This track will be released on their first Album in 2023. Berlins hip label, Fun In The Chuch and YELKA are planning to release 10 Albums in 4 years. Norman Nitzsche produced their first Album which was recorded in the Popschutz Studio. YELKA takes an old-school approach to promotion, opting for residencies in Hamburg and Berlin, with plans for international residencies. Daniel Meteo is better known as one of the founders of Random Noize Musick, brings his expertise. Yelka Wehmeier previously played bass in Patrick Wagner’s band Gewalt, and Christian Obermaier is a sought-after drummer in Berlin’s indie scene, notably with Schneider TM’s band. Their work impressed Fun In The Church A&R Maurice Summen so much that he offered the trio a 10-album deal on the spot.
