JÖRG WÄHNER / SHRAMM

Jörg Wähner received classical music training at a young age before studying jazz drums at Leipzig University of Music under Heinrich Köbberling starting in 2002. He furthered his studies in Barcelona from 2005 to 2006 under Jo Krause and Gary Willis, and received private lessons from various jazz musicians, including drummer Jorge Rossy. During this period, he played in various jazz ensembles and founded his own project, “Talking to Mr. Wegner”, in 2008. Wähner has been a member of the band Chapeau Claque since 2006, achieving 6th place in the Bundesvision Song Contest in 2009. He collaborated with Berlin electronic artist Sascha Ring, aka Apparat in 2007, resulting in three studio albums. Currently, his main project is SHRAMM, a jazz trio influenced by artists like The Bad Plus and E.S.T., where Wähner, along with pianist Florian Kästner and bassist Philipp Martin, creates captivating music that reflects his personal journey and the transformative power of music. Their debut LP “ANDROIDE SCRIP” was released under the DUR series. Despite the saturation of music on streaming platforms, SHRAMM’s music stands out, offering a refreshing blend of simplicity and catchy melodies.
