CHRISTOPH M. HAMANN

Christoph Hamann, born in 1975, is a Berlin-based freelance composer, musician, and performer. He studied music at the “Hochschule für Musik—Hanns Eisler” as a violinist. Known for composing music for theater, he has collaborated with various theater companies across Germany. 2013 he received an invitation for “Theatertreffen Berlin” with the theatre music “Krieg und Frieden” (directed by Sebastian Hartmann, Music with Apparat). 2017 he was awarded with the “Theater-Preis Stuttgart” for “Drei Akte” (directed by Stefanie Oberhoff) with Antje Töpfer. Hamann is a member of Apparat’s Band and the artist collective The String Theory, both nominated for a Grammy in 2020. He has also supported renowned artists like José González and ANDRRA on their tours. In addition to his theater and music projects, he produces songs and records for children and scores for movies and television. He is worked on a record for children focusing on children’s rights. Recently, together with Carola Schaal, he founded the art collective “Creme Profan - a platform for artistic research, performance, and activism in public space”.
