BED is a Berlin-based band formed by Argentinian bassist Sol Astolfi and Chilean vocalist Nicolás Astorga in 2021. They later invited German guitarist Ema Schiller to join after initial experimentation and writing sessions. BED is fundamentally a queer musical project, blending shoegaze, dream pop, and post-punk sounds. Their lyrics, melancholic and sensual, intertwine vulnerability and desire, challenging conventional creative expression. Vocalizations deliberately maintain gender ambiguity, reflecting fluid identity across the album. Influenced by musicians like Liz Harris (Grouper), Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine), Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins), Courtney Love (Hole), and Bowery Electric, BED fuses iconic 90s elements with ambient layers, inspired by the Berlin rave scene.
