Sascha Ring, known as Apparat, is a German electronic musician with a career spanning various genres since 1996. Notably collaborating with Modeselektor as Moderat, he is one of he founders of Shitkatapult. “Goodbye”, featuring Soap&Skin, from his 2011 Mute debut album, gained recognition as the theme for Netflix’s “Dark” and appeared in shows like Breaking Bad and Nikita, as well as in films like Prisoners and The Drop. “LP5” by Apparat received a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album. In 2014, at the 71st Venice International Film Festival, Sascha Ring won the Piccioni Award for the remarkable Score of the movie “Il giovane favoloso”, directed by Mario Martone. In the following year, Sascha Ring earned the Soundtrack Stars Award at the Venice Film Festival for Drake Doremus’ film “Equals” in 2015. In the illustrious setting of the 75th Venice International Film Festival in 2018, Mario Martone’s drama “Capri-Revolution” secured its place in the prestigious main competition. The film garnered significant acclaim as both Sasha Ring and John Philipp Thimm were bestowed with the esteemed Best Soundtrack award.
